GILES WILLIAMS,
DIRECTOR OF BROOKE HOUSE COLLEGE:

Brooke House College (UK) in association with Darbi Ltd. is pleased to announce the first A Level courses operating in Bulgaria. This represents a unique opportunity for Bulgarian students to attend A Level programmes in their home country, and upon successful completion of their examinations obtain a place at a top-flight UK university. Brooke House is a prestigious, independent, boarding college with over 40 years experience in the international education sector. The college has welcomed thousands of students from all over the world and helped them gain admission to some of UK’s most highly-regarded universities. We are excited to be helping to pioneer the delivery of A Level programmes in Sofia and have confi dence in Darbi, as an experienced provider of university counselling, to ensure first class tuition, well trained staff and excellent guidance for all students wishing to study at top class universities. This project sees the establishment of our first European partner school in addition to our joint ventures with partners in China, Malaysia and Nigeria. This is an excellent opportunity for students to attend A Level courses, taught in English, while at home in Bulgaria, and then have the option of applying to UK universities as EU students. Competition for places at UK universities for “Home” and “EU” students is increasingly fierce. A Level qualifications are viewed by UK universities as the “gold standard” entry route to undergraduate courses. Bulgarian students taking the A Level Cambridge International Examinations through the Brooke House - Darbi programme will therefore be able to apply to universities on the same basis as UK students. Brooke House is keen to ensure that all applications to the courses are assessed appropriately and will be holding Open Days with Darbi to counsel students and provide information on the A Level courses, university applications and subject choices.”
SOPHIA ZHELIAZKOVA,
DIRECTOR OF STUDIES
Ladies and Gentlemen,

The men and women of tomorrow are gathered here today.
Dear students,
There is more to school than mere Mathematics and English Literature.
We’ll teach you to live in harmony with your fellows, to give and take in equal proportions.
You will discover your place, your size, the extent of your self.
You will find that our school is the world in miniature; and your days here are a rehearsal for your time in that world.
You are privileged to be allowed such a rehearsal. It means that when you leave here you leave with the advantage of knowing what lies beyond.
You must apply to the world the rules that apply to this school.
In life you will be one of the ones who lead the way and you must fail neither yourself nor our college.
You will learn to win and to lose, to smile on misfortune as you smile on triumph.
I hope that one day you will look back and know that we have made a good job of you.
However, the way to accomplish all this should not be totally predictable since education is also a process of being taken by surprise.
